An Ocean Adventure: A Field Trip to the Aquarium of the Pacific
Students from all classrooms at ISSAC School were buzzing with excitement as they boarded the buses at 8:30 a.m., eagerly anticipating their much-awaited field trip to the Aquarium of the Pacific.
Upon arrival, the students were captivated by the majestic sight of the giant blue whale sculpture welcoming them into a world of marine wonder. Their journey began with a visit to the Tropical Pacific gallery, where they marveled at the vibrant coral reefs and colorful fish darting through the water.
Next, they explored the Northern Pacific gallery, where the playful sea otters and mysterious moon jellies held their rapt attention. The kids squealed with delight as they touched small sharks and rays in the interactive Shark Lagoon and giggled at the waddling Magellanic penguins in the June Keyes Penguin Habitat.
By lunchtime, they enjoyed their meals on the sunny outdoor patio overlooking the harbor, then wrapped up their adventure with a stop at the Pacific Visions Theater, where an immersive show taught them about ocean conservation.
As the clock struck 2:45 p.m., the buses pulled back into the school parking lot, with the kids chattering nonstop about their favorite exhibits, clutching souvenirs and memories of an unforgettable day.
