Together, they bring a range of experience, strengths, and perspectives to guide the school’s academic programs, student support, campus operations, family engagement, and continued growth.
The team is united by a shared commitment to ISSAC’s mission and to creating a safe, welcoming, inclusive, and high-quality learning environment for every student. Director of Student Life
Felipe Iwahashi da Silva
Mr. Felipe brings a unique and vibrant multicultural background to his educational practice, having lived in three different countries: Japan, Brazil, and the United States. Growing up immersed in diverse cultures, he quickly grasped the invaluable importance of communication, leading him to become fluent in English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Japanese. Driven by a passion for connecting academic theory with practical, on-the-ground educational practices, he spent eight transformative years supporting the development of a non-profit organization. To further deepen his expertise, he then returned to academia, earning two distinct Master of Arts degrees from higher education institutions in both California and Japan.
Throughout his international and professional experiences, Mr. Felipe has maintained one core philosophy: student happiness must be the focal point of educational practice. His rich linguistic skills and global perspective allow him to deeply understand, appreciate, and adapt to the various cultural strengths and individual talents of his students. With the exciting expansion of the new Baker campus, he is bringing this student-centered approach to the forefront. He is determined to create an inclusive, welcoming space where all students, parents, teachers, and staff feel a profound sense of belonging within the ISSAC Community.
