February 2023 - ISSAC Charity Spotlight in Eastside Living

At the core of ISSAC’s program is
project-based learning, in which students carry out six projects each year. Four projects are to be about human rights, self-development, human rights, the environment, and multiculturalism, while the other two projects are selected by students and faculty each year.
A team of preteen middle schoolers studied cholera and identified lack of access to clean water as the reason for its continued existence today. They recruited volunteers to try the filtered chemically purified water.

September 3, 2019 - ISSAC charter school debuts in Costa Mesa

There was a sense of excitement Tuesday morning as students, parents and teachers stepped into the International School for Science and Culture for the first day of classes at the new public charter school in Costa Mesa.
Parents took photos of their children holding signs in a makeshift photo booth while other parents filled out last-minute paperwork in the campus office. Some teachers mingled with students eating cereal at lunch tables.
The day marked a new chapter for everyone there...
August 28, 2019 - Disputed charter school ready to open in Newport-Mesa district

With less than a week until the first day of classes, summer has about come and gone for students in the Newport-Mesa Unified School District.
The same is true for students who will be attending the International School for Science and Culture, a public charter school that also will open Tuesday and operate on Newport-Mesa’s Harper Assessment Center site in Costa Mesa after getting approval for a charter facilities agreement from the district board of trustees in June.
