Learning Together Online

March 15, 2020

Dear ISSAC Families:

In line with other schools in the area and across the state, ISSAC will be closing for two weeks, starting Tuesday, March 17th. On Monday, we will have a minimum day. Study packets have been sent home for students to continue their learning. Families may choose to have their students work from home Monday.

Teachers and staff will be at the school Monday and Tuesday to determine the best tools and methods for our students’ continued learning. These may include paper packets sent home, videos, live chats, work in Google Classroom and lots of reading at home. We will keep you informed of the educational plan to make sure that students have everything they need to continue their studies in the coming weeks.

Students who do not have access to a laptop, tablet or similar device will be able to checkout Chromebooks for home use if they have internet access. We are working out solutions in case there is no internet access in the home.

Please be assured that

  • Your student will continue learning at ISSAC
  • You have in hand the print materials your student needs immediately to continue studying
  • We will be able to provide a Chromebook to be checked out and are working to make sure all students have internet access
  • We are still confirming the availability of meals
  • The faculty and staff will be in touch and will be available for you by phone or online

ISSAC’s first year has been an adventure so far, full of great experiences and growth. Thank you for sharing ISSAC’s first year with us. The current challenge is just another episode in our story.

Please look for emails and ClassDojo messages from ISSAC and the classroom teachers over the next two days. Let’s make this next phase a joyful adventure of working together even when apart.

Yours truly,

Padmini Srinivasan, Ph.D.

Atentamente,

Padmini Srinivasan, Ph.D.
